Yes, the Powerkit drive mechanism is independent of the bicycle’s regular drive train. Due to the freewheel in the motor it runs also very smooth should the battery be empty once. The chain is also not affected by the electric drive regardless which gear is engaged – the transmission of the Powerkit is always the same.
Assembly & Service
CAN I ALSO DRIVE WITH THE POWERKIT REGULARLY WITHOUT ANY ELECTRIC POWER?
IS THE DRIVE DISC VULNERABLE TO DIRT?
No, the drive disc is made of high-quality plastic material – dirt in the gear wheel will be simply displaced.
WHAT’S THE BEST METHOD TO CLEAN MY BIKE ONCE THE POWERKIT HAS BEEN ASSEMBLED?
You can clean your bike as usual using a hosepipe and a pH-neutral cleaner. Please prevent to splash directly into the electronic components. We strictly advise you not to use a high-pressure cleaner. After cleaning the bicycle we recommend to ride it shorty to make sure all water gets out of the motor.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MOUNT THE POWERKIT PRO?
The biggest task is to mount and align the drive disc (approx. 30 to 40 minutes for unpractised persons). The other components like controller, motor, accelerator throttle and battery display, are assembled within 10 to 20 minutes. For disassembling the drive unit you just need 5 minutes, assuming the drive disc stays mounted at the wheel.
WHAT IS THE RANGE OF THE POWERKIT PRO?
It depends how much power you are consuming and if you are riding on a hilly or a flat ground. At a speed of 30km/h the range should be around 50 – 100km with the Powerkit Pro.
WHAT IS THE RANGE OF THE POWERKIT RACE?
It depends how much power you are consuming and if you are riding on a hilly or a flat ground. At a speed of 45km/h the range should be around 30 – 60km with the Powerkit Race.
